Wood Destroying Fungi
Wood destroying fungi, commonly known as wood rot, are a group of microscopic organisms that digest moist wood. They are only visible to the naked eye when many of them occur in a group. Much like other biotic organisms, wood rot requires four fundamentals to survive which are oxygen, favorable temperatures, water, and a food source. Typically the control of water is the primary means to prevent damage in a structure.
